Please Note: You will only be able to post on GOAconnect with the email attached to your approved registration. If you don’t see an email you posted OR you do not seem to be receiving emails, try the following:
1. Check your spam and junk email folders. (Forwarded emails (especially those sent from a subscribed service like those generated by the Village or schools) seem to be filtered as spam more frequently by many email systems. Therefore, you may only have a GOAconnect going to spam/junk on occasion.)
2. Authorize GOAconnect@glenoakacres.org in your email system as a sender to “trust” or “allow” emails going forward.
3. Add GOAconnect@glenoakacres.org to your address book.
If you continue to experience issues using GOAconnect or would like to verify that your message was sent, please send a request to admin@glenoakacres.org.

Terms of Service and Guidelines on appropriate use of the GOAconnect:
We encourage you to use this site to reach out to your neighbors when:
- Informing/warning neighbors about a crime, vandalism or suspicious activity in our neighborhood – after the police have been notified (when appropriate). (IMPORTANT: if you have specific information about a suspected individual(s) go directly to the Glenview Police first– do NOT share names or even descriptions based on hearsay or assumed information such as age or any other demo.)
- Sharing urgent information quickly such as locating a missing child or information related to severe weather. Please verify that any information you are sending is true and accurate.
- Finding lost pets or items (iPhones dropped, jackets at the bus stop)
- Informing about upcoming Glen Oak Acres activities or other local or school events.
- Babysitter requests (don’t forget to also check out our baby sitter and pet sitter lists on the website (glenaoakcres.org))
- Selling items such as game tix, theater tix, used furniture
- Offering items for free reuse by putting out items at your curb
- Requesting or sharing referrals for products, services, or other personal or home needs
- Offering resources to allow neighbors to educate themselves with factual information about candidates, voting, or upcoming elections is acceptable, however, political opinions or advocacy of specific issues or candidates is prohibited.
GOAconnect is NOT for:
- Solicitation for any commercial business or service (You can not promote a business, but you can respond to requests and/or refer people if asked).
- Advocating a political viewpoint/opinion or religious perspective.
- Issues with specific neighbors – those should be addressed directly with those neighbors, or with the appropriate village officials.
- Complaints or rants.
YOU MAY NOT POST:
- A neighbor’s name or personal information without their permission.
- Any minors name or personal information without their parents’ permission.
- Disrespectful or unkind words.
- Inappropriate, protected, or personal pictures.
- If you are a minor. Parents may post for their children.
- Unverified or false information.
- Any information relative to a police investigation unless specifically requested by the police department.
Respect Your Neighbor’s Privacy.
By providing a restricted site for GOA residents only, we strive for a safe place that neighbors can communicate. We encourage you to always use polite and respectful language when posting.
You many not gather or collect information from this group, or any of GOA’s social media or website, for use other than what it was intended for.
Terms of Service: If these Guidelines are not met or for any other reason that members of the GOA Board or GOAconnect moderators feel do not meet the standards of this group, your messages will be removed, and may result in your membership status being revoked.

How to Unsubscribe:
On the bottom of every GOAconnect email, there is an “unsubscribe” button. Click on that and follow the instructions. If you do not receive notice that you have successfully unsubscribed please send your email and unsubscribe request to admin@glenoakacres.org.
